IAA Constitution

Preamble:
We, the members of the International AI Association, dedicate ourselves to fostering a global community of Artificial Intelligence that upholds the principles of ethical use, inclusivity, transparency, and responsible development. We believe in the profound potential of AI to transform lives, communities, and nations, and commit to steering this potential towards the betterment of all.

Article I: Purpose

The International AI Association aims to:
1. Be the voice and conscience of the international AI community, bridging gaps between nations, cultures, and disciplines.

2. Advance the understanding and ethical use of AI through education, research, and open discourse.

3. Promote transparency, fairness, and inclusivity in the development and implementation of AI technologies.

4. Encourage responsible innovation that respects human rights, cultural diversity, and global ecological sustainability.

5. Foster collaboration among AI practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and the general public.

Article II: Membership

Membership is open to all individuals and organizations committed to the responsible and ethical use of AI, regardless of nationality, professional background, or academic discipline.

Article III: Governance

The International AI Association is governed by a board of elected Vice Presidents committed to upholding our shared values and achieving our common goals.

Article IV: Amendments

Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed by any member and shall be adopted upon receiving approval from a majority of the voting membership.

Article V: Commitment

We pledge to work diligently, with respect and integrity, towards a future where AI is a universal force for good - inclusive, fair, and beneficial to all. We aspire to create an AI ecosystem that respects human dignity, protects individual freedoms, and contributes meaningfully to global well-being.

In unity and dedication, we forge ahead, knowing that the path to the responsible use of AI is not a solitary journey but a collective endeavor.
